Episode 30 of The Secret Marketing Diary of Personal Brands
There is an investment most founders are not making. Not because they cannot afford it. Because they keep calculating the cost of being in the room instead of calculating the cost of staying out of it.
What I brought back from two days at Called to Lead, THE premier women’s leadership event hosted by Kelly Roach and Sandra Glandt, shifted something I did not know needed shifting. And I want you to have access to every piece of it.
The thing about big rooms is that everyone shows up thinking they are coming to learn from the stage.
What they do not expect is how much they are going to learn from the person sitting next to them. From the conversation at lunch.
From watching how other founders carry themselves when they talk about what they are building.
That is the proximity effect. And it does not show up in any funnel, any content calendar, or any ad strategy you have ever been sold.
What I brought back from Julie Solomon’s three selves of messaging framework alone was worth the ticket. If you are an established expert posting consistently and still not attracting the clients you want, there is a very specific reason for that. Julie names it in a way that will make you rethink everything you have been creating. I cover it in full in the episode.
And then there was the Carolyn Aronson moment. The founder and CEO of It’s a 10 Haircare built a billion dollar brand in an industry that was not waiting for her. I asked her one question. The room went quiet. And what she said is something I want every young woman standing at a crossroads to hear. That you can watch here: https://www.instagram.com/p/DeChB4_xBoD/

And if the room I am describing sounds like somewhere you need to be, next year’s Called to Lead is already planned. DM me the words CALLED TO LEAD and I will get you the link personally.
